While the phone is suited for sending short messages, it is less than ideal for sending longer messages. The reason for this has to do with accuracy, as discussed above. If the message is short, then the addressee could probably remember the whole message without taking any notes. But on the other hand, if the message is longer, then taking notes may be the only way to remember the whole message. This means that the sender of a phone message has to rely on the note-taking ability of the addressee.
